Annette Landin - From low grade in arts to displaying art before jurys on art exhibitions

From low grades in art to participating on jury voted art exhibitions? The artist Annette Landin shares how she from being the one no one wants to play Pictionary with all of the sudden realizes that you can paint at 53 years of age.

Well life changes and hidden talents are probably something that we all possess, Annette says with a laugh. For me it all started with Champagne and an After Work. One night in April 2019 I held a brush and used paint on a canvas for the first time in my life. The theme was spring and surprisingly enough after a couple of hours I had a tulip field in front of me. The fascinating part was that other people than me could see what it was as well.

Annette then shares that she the day after bought paint, canvases, spatulas and brushes for “half a fortune” and started painting. Since then she has painted every day, been selected for several jury voted exhibitions, represented on foreign galleries and now working full time with art.

On the question of what technique and genre she paints, she laughs again. The answer is “everything”, I try and make attempts with everything. I paint by the feeling of the day and am inspired by the world around us, music, the forest, flowers and my art is as life itself - different!
