For smaller frames, they often have a mount on the back of the frame that allows you to place the frame on a table or shelf. Frames in the size 13x18 fit perfectly as free-standing frames and it can be nice to add a picture that you have taken yourself, for example a family portrait, a picture of a pet or some other memory that is worth showcasing. You can combine several free-standing 13x18 paintings in the same shelf next to each other or spread them out. A 13x18 frame can of course be used as part of a gallery wall as well and can be combined with other frames of different sizes on the wall.
