What type of frame should I choose?
When choosing the type of frame you want to have, you can use a few different methods. One method is to choose a discreet frame, such as a black or white frame, to let the picture stand out more and get the full focus when someone is looking at the room. Another method is to match with other furniture and decor, if you have oak furniture for instance it can be nice with matching oak frames. The fewer types of wood you have, the more harmony it can create in the room, but it is of course possible to mix several types of wood as well. Some interior styles also have consistent style patterns for the interior, such as many straight black lines, and then it can be very nice with picture frames in black that match this pattern.

Selection of prints
When you choose prints for your frames on the wall, you can use a few different methods and here we summarize some of them. One way to choose prints is to match the color of the prints with each other and with the other decor in the room. You may, for example, find some prints that repeatedly have the same red color, and if you combine this with for instance sofa cushions in a similar red color, the end result can become very harmonious. If you combine these prints with color with more neutral prints, for example black and white prints, you can have many pictures on the wall and have a clear color theme between prints without it becoming too much. Another method is to choose a complementary color to your interior, for example if you have blue you can match with orange in the prints. A final method you can use is to have a clear content theme among the pictures, for example to have an animal and nature theme where all prints try to convey the same message of wildlife.

Passepartout vs. white margin
Now that you have chosen what the gallery wall should look like, which frames to use and which prints, the last step in deciding whether the pictures should have a passepartout or white margin. When you put white in the frame and make the pictures inside a little smaller, it often creates more harmonious results and there is a clearer emphasis on the pictures themselves. The difference between a passepartout and a white margin is that when a print is printed, you print it with a margin if you have selected a white margin and the image is scaled down, but the whole image is still visible. If you have a passepartout on the other hand, it is instead a piece of cardboard that you put on top afterwards, which means that part of the picture is hidden.
