1. Choose a color scheme
The first method we want to suggest is to choose prints based on a specific color scheme. It can be very beautiful to choose a certain color that reappears in all or most or the prints in a gallery wall. You can also combine it with black and white prints if you don't want to use the color in all of the frames.
If you also let the color in the prints be present in your furniture and the rest of the interior it can tie the room together in a very beautiful way. For instance if you have red prints in the frames on the wall and combine it with perhaps red sofa pillows and a red blanket.

2. Pictures on the same theme
Another method is to choose prints based on a specific theme that you have in mind. Some examples of themes are nature, animals, ocean, travel, city or fashion. So you could for instance choose to have several prints with pictures of nature to create a clear theme between the prints in the gallery wall. You could also combine several themes, for instance by having every other picture with a nature theme and the rest with city themes. This could create a cool message and highlight the symbiosis between nature and urbanisation.

3. Theme based on the room
Our third method is to choose the themes of the prints based on the room. Depending on which room it is, the pictures in the frames can tell a story that fits with the activity in the room. For instance by having pictures of food, wine, traveling and culture in kitchens and dining rooms, or nature, ocean, winter or mountain themes in a living room. The former invites discussions about the story behind the food and drinks made in the kitchen and the latter can convey a calm and stress free message suitable for living rooms.

4. Build around your favorite print
A fourth method is to simply look for prints and pictures that really speak to you and that you love, and build the gallery wall and choose the other prints around that single or those few selected prints. Often our gut feeling tells us a lot and we just fall in love with certain pictures - and it can rarely go wrong if you go with what you favor. When you then have found a few statement pieces you can select other prints based on a color theme, or perhaps the content theme of the statement print. Combine it with more neutral prints and it will give more focus to the ones you really love. Neutral prints could for instance be black or white prints or prints with a lot of space inside of them that are not too eclectic.

5. Use a print concept
There are lots and lots of print retailers around the world and many of them have very specific concepts. Our last method is to go with a concept that you like and then have all prints in that concept or match with other neutral pictures. These print concepts cover everything from custom made prints portraying your pet, prints with a map and a text relevant to where you live or a place you love, prints with texts from books on top of the motif or perhaps prints related to the birth of your child.
